Steve's Roofing & Masaba night sees warm weather and good racing

A warm July night greeted race fans as Park Jefferson Speedway winds down the 2019 season. Fans were treated to give-aways from Steve's Roofing along with a large candy toss courtesy of Masaba Inc.

In the Artworks Graphics Modifieds, it was Jim Thies who finally picked up a long deserved victory at Park Jefferson. Thies has been challenging in every race the second half of the season and finally parked it in victory lane. Shane Demey charged hard from row 4 for second and Jason Schneiders finished third. Thies and Chris Mills won the heats.

Out of nowhere came Matt Fredericksen to pick up his first every victory at Park Jefferson in the Stevenson Hardware IMCA Sprint Cars. Fredericksen took advantage of a first row starting spot to take the win after a nasty front stretch wreck. Point leader Coline Smith was second and Nebraska' Daniel Nekolite was third. Fredericksen and Brandon Stevenson picked up heat wins.

The J&J Stock Car division continues to be one of the most exciting night in and night out at Park Jefferson. It was Ward and Ryan Harris from row 3 who took the top spots over 9th starter Bo Lundquist. Todd Gereau and Brenton Palmer won the heats.

John Cain continues to be near the front at Park Jefferson as he picked up another win this year. The IMCA Hobby Stock division has been dominated by a different driver each of the past three years with Cain, Craig Clift and Andy Hoffman all claiming the yearly title. Cain picked up the win over fellow third row runner Keith Sanders and Aaron Shearn. Heat wins went to Cain and Mitch Schultz

Cody Thompson does it again as he has picked up another win. Cade Richards was second and Rusty Montagne as the top three finishers continue to be the same from week to week. With Thomspon carrying a 9 race with streak, track owner has put a $300 bounty on Thompson. Any driver beating Thompson this week will pick up a winners check of $600. If Thompson wins again, he will pick up a check for $500 for taking on the challenge.

Danny Vanderveen knows how to pick up the money and with an extra $50 on the line, Vanderveen took home a nice check of $150 in the IMCA Sport Compacts. Vanderveen came from outside row 1 and won over Jarad Gross and returning competitor Jake Newsom.

Park Jefferson will see the 2019 season come to a close next Saturday night for Season Championship night where six class champions will be crowned. In addition to regular racing, Park Jefferson will also feature powder puff racing. Details to follow.
