5/9 Race Report
The Park Jefferson Speedway season opener saw 70 race cars check into the pit gate. Racers visiting victory lane included Bob Moore in the A Modifieds, Chris Palsrok in the J&J Fitting Stock Cars, Kirk Beatty in the Pederson Machine Sport Mods, Andy Hoffman in the Hobby Stocks, Aaron Edwardson in the Sport Compacts, and Nathan Ray in the Bombers.

Fourteen Modifieds were on hand to take the green flag. Bob Moore in his #48 would come out on top after holding off several hard charges from Jim Thies and Jay Noteboom. Noteboom overtook Thies on the last restart and tried the extreme high side to reel in Moore, but Moore finished strong and held of Noteboom for the checkers.

The Stock Car feature was an entertaining one as 16 took the green flag in their feature event. Chris Palsrok would three wheel his “X” machine to victory lane after a mid-pack start. Palsrok steadily worked his way through the field and eventually beat 2nd place finisher Justin Regnerus, and third place finisher Paul Wenzlaff to the conclusion of the race.

The Sport Mods saw 13 entries take the track for the season opener. Rick Wynn led the opening laps of the race, but Kirk Beatty in his 21B machine would take the lead halfway through the race and keep the field in check on a few late restarts. The top 5 battled and sliced nose to tail to the finish. Beatty was followed by Kaleb Kennedy and Todd Boulware.

The Hobby Stocks included 15 race vehicles taking the race track for their feature event. Andy Hoffman in 8x would take the top position followed by Marc Janssen and Mike Hanson.

The Sport Compacts saw the 16E of Aaron Edwardson defeat his 8 other opponents to take the season opening victory. Travis McDermott finished 2nd while Andrew Vogt took home 3rd place.

Nathan Ray was the lone Bomber entry so he raced with the Hobby Stock class while officially taking the Bomber victory. Racing continues next Saturday (5/16) at Park Jefferson Speedway with the Nebraska 360 Sprints vs. Midwest Sprint Touring Series’ headlining the evening’s program.
