Road to the Iron Cup this Saturday plus the Sea Foam LMSS
Park Jefferson Speedway returns to IMCA sanctioned racing this Saturday with all classes earning state, regional and national points for IMCA as Sea Foam brings the Road to the Iron Cup event along with the Late Model Stockcar Series(LMSS). The LMSS features cars that raced at Park Jefferson in the 90's and are billed as the fastest touring stock car group in the Midwest.
IMCA Drivers in the SignMasters Modified, Fox 620 Hobby Stocks and Pedersen Machine Sport Compacts will compete in the Road to the Iron Cup. The Road to the Iron Cup is a unique opportunity for drivers to race for an increase in purse of $100, with $50 going to a driver drawn from a hat in positions 1-5, $25 going to a driver drawn from positions 6-24, and a $25 hard charger award to the driver advancing the most positions on the night. In addition, every driver that competes in a heat race for the 3 feature divisions this week will receive a coupon of $20 off of registration for the Iron Cup.
Drivers have a unique chance to participate Saturday and go to Raceway Park Sunday for the SD Nationals with increased purses. Camping overnight is available at Park Jefferson grounds.
Gates open at 5pm with racing at 7pm. Adult admission will be $10 for the special event with kids 6-16 and seniors 70+ costing $1. Pit admission will be $25. Unfortunately a rock damaged the window in the clubhouse so it will be closed this weekend for repairs.
