Park Jefferson cancels with snow, South Dakota Sprint Nationals the new opener
With snow falling Wednesday morning at Park Jefferson, officials have once again been forced to push back the season opener. The 2018 racing season will now kick off with the largest sprint car show in the history of the Siouxland as Pepsi presents the $10,000 to win South Dakota Sprint Car Nationals sanctioned by the MSTS. The unique format will feature twin qualifying heats on Friday followed by features on Saturday. Joining them both days will be the IMCA Sprint Cars racing for the weekly purse on Friday and $750 to win on Saturday along with the IMCA Sport Modifieds. On Friday, the IMCA Stock Cars and Sport Compacts will also join the card and on Saturday the IMCA Modifieds and Hobby Stocks will get kick their season off. As this is opening event, all divisions will be running with a draw re/draw format both nights.
