Monday July 1st sees 6th Annual J&J Fitting Iron Cup at Park Jefferson

One of the highlights of Sioux Cities racing season comes Monday, July 1st as the 6th annual J&J Fitting Iron Cup comes to Park Jefferson. The IMCA Iron Cup event will feature over $25,000 in purses in what is the largest single payday in Park Jefferson history be distributed across the six IMCA Classes. All divisions will be running for the huge purses and the chance to stand in victory lane with the coveted Iron Cup trophy. This year’s event is unique in that it is anchoring the first ever Midwest Madness tour, which will see drivers in the IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Stock Cars racing 7 nights in a row. Joining them as headliners will be the first ever visit of the Sprint Series of Nebraska, which will bring IMCA RACESaver Sprint Cars from across the area to battle at Park Jefferson. The IMCA Sport Modifieds, Hobby Stocks and Sport Compacts all will be racing for larger purses as well as the Iron Cup Championship. All divisions will feature the IMCA Draw/Redraw Format and will award state, regional and national IMCA points. Full purses can be found at

Gates open Monday at 5pm with hot laps at 6:30 and racing to follow hot laps. We do anticipate a larger than normal field of cars so heat races will not begin until all cars are given an opportunity to hot lap.

The Iron Cup is not possible without the support of J&J Fitting. J&J Fitting is one of the leading mechanical contractors and fabricators in the Sioux City area. With a specialty in commercial construction projects, J&J has quickly grown into one of the areas best. For further information, contact Casey Jones at or at 319-610-3556. Casey and his team are responsible for many of the Park Jefferson improvements including the scoreboard, catwalk and more.

The Iron Cup began in 2014 to fill the void of the cancelled Tiny Lund Memorial the week after the Super Nationals in Boone. With the Tiny Lund back running, along with the Rapid Nationals, Abe Lincoln and other fall events filling the calendar, the Iron Cup has moved to the Monday of the week of the fourth of July to anchor the first ever Midwest Madness Tour presented by Advanced Auto Parts. Drivers from across the country are coming to Western Iowa and Eastern South Dakota and Nebraska to for a 7 night swing featuring Shelby County Speedway, Clay County Speedway, Stuart Speedway, Buena Vista Raceway, Crawford County Speedway and I 80 Speedway.
